April 1st, 2005. April fools day. It was a day that will live in infamy. There pulled some great pranks on this day. For starters, just look at what they did to our profiles! All our skill ranks had been replaced with a Star Wars theme! Avid became wookie, expert turned into padawan, renowned was changed to rogue, and legendary... jedi! Casual was changed too but it escapes me at the moment. Also, everyone's funpass was changed, though they all referred to a picture that didn't exist. Mine became:

profiles/media/
passport_Vash-like.jpg

Others became "Julianistic", or "Mackerific", or one of the other two that also escapes me at the moment. "Vash-like" was the replacement for the Platinum funpass. Doing some digging in the profile's XML code, we found that after "Vash-like" came "Stevity", where normally it says "Staff". A level that no one has yet to attain.
As if that weren't enough, There went and turned off the lights in Karuna, turned on the lights in Tyr, and painted a nice sunset in the sky over Frosty Wonderland. See the screenshots below! Karuna Plaza looks absolutely AMAZING in nighttime!!

MustangGirl and I found ourselves caught in some inexplicable phenomenon two days after April Fools. Was it just an innocent little glitch? Or was there a connection between the two events? We were driving in my Dirt Devil TUV across a bridge on Ootay when suddenly... POOF! It happened. I was the first to go. I got caught in what you see down in the screenshot. It happens to be one of those boards you stick your head through the hole and it makes a nice little photo (see the following screenshot for what it SHOULD look like). However, there was no board! We were just floating there, both of us. Yet Mustang was still on the bridge from her perspective. She summoned me back and things got even more out of hand. I don't quite remember how we finally broke out of that chinese finger trap...

What it SHOULD look like:

Mister Blinky. Mister Blinky Mister Blinky... He blinks. Every object in There has a unique identification number associated with it, called a DOID. Mister Blinky's DOID number is 108891507. Incidentally, that's also his name. We just call him Mister Blinky because it's so much easier to remember. Mister Blinky used to hang out on the edge of the island below Saja. Then some people figured out how to move him with a PAZ trick and he gets to see the world now! It doesn't seem to have cheered him up any though. :( Poor Mister Blinky... He stopped blinking for a short time during May, 2005. I guess he was just seeing what it felt like to not blink.

On April 20th, I heard rumors of a house with transparent walls in Tyr so I went to investigate. It turned out to be true! There was a house with a red spider marking it as broken and the walls were transparent from the outside looking in! There were other spiders scattered across There at this point; several signs turned to spiders after an update which broke a handful of objects in There.

On December 23rd, 2004 I took my dog Rocket up into space for a little walk. We decided to pay Deep Space 999,999 a visit. What I then got Rocket to do was quite an accomplishment. As the screenshot shows, I managed to get Rocket to follow me up and up, elevator after elevator beginning at the main deck of Deep Space 999,999 up to the highest point on the entire system of space PAZ's. Rocket is such an obedient dog!

On December 31st, I came across There_Test3. Now a tester is not, in and of itself, an unusual sight to see in There, however this one had a bar built around him by Satarell! Take a look:

Come February, 2005, I had built myself a glorious treehouse on northern Cangrejo! It was built into existing trees that were already part of the There landscape and took quite some effort. On a several occasions, during building and after, a deck fell to the ground either due to human error on my part or what has become known as PAZ quakes. Repairing those fallen decks proved to be a real headache.

My treehouse had a bedroom, reading room, library (of sorts), dance floor, living room, private seating, cloud seating, eagle's nest, campfire, upside down trapeze group, sky deck, and even a secret tire swing seating for two hiding away inside one of the trees. I let the PAZ time out when I took a break away from There for much of this past summer, but I do plan on resurrecting it eventually, bigger and better than ever!
Also in February of 2005 I started two clubs, The Niche and Soul Boarders. The Niche consisted of the friends I hung around with most: MustangGirl, Buff_God, MissyJean, and JoAnn. It was a club just for invites and whatever else we might need. Soul Boarders took off quicker than I had hoped, gaining nearly 20 members as I continued to hold freestyle boarding events and races.

It was about this time, as I was still constantly exploring There and discovering new things, that I uncovered the true reason why there is no water on planet Theria! It all went down the drain!!

On March 20th, 2005 I visited g0d up in the clouds of Saja for the first time! She doesn't talk much, but then again, she doesn't need to.

The Yacht Club holds massive hoverboat flotillas each month and these really are a blast. Navigating up in the air amongst all those other boats can be a bit tough. It tends to get real crowded up there. But in the end it's all worth it. This particular flotilla happened in March of 2005 and took us past Motu Motu, and involved several near-misses during landings and take-offs. Crazy drunk flyers...
Then there's the magical blockhead line in the middle of the ocean. Aaaah yes, good times. Goooood times. Stand on one side of the line and everyone on the other side appears to be a blockhead! Ladies and gentlemen, don't try this at home!

December 1st, 2004

On this day I became a full blown member of the There community! Yay for me! That's me on the right.
Ain't I purdy?

Well, over time my look changed a bit. I bought new clothes, bought more "stuff"... you know. I think that's a bit better now, don't you?

I began exploring the massive Therian world and wouldn't ya know it, I chose something called the hoverboard to begin my exploration. So I step on this thing and... woah! It floats! And that was the beginning of a beauuuutiful friendship :)

I made friends. I met this really nice head in the ground and we talked and talked and talked about nothing in particular. Boy if she wasn't the nicest head stuck in the ground I'd ever met. That head actually belongs to a body known all together as JoAnn. She was my mentor and my guide when I first joined, and became my first friend in There.

Now there are times when you feel like you're way up in the clouds.

There are times when you're face down in the mud.

There are times when the world around you seems a bit more peculiar than usual.

And there are times when things just aren't going your way.

It's at times like these that you just need to kick back with a good friend...

And forget you ever saw any of it.

Jon Quixote was There.

In the beginning, There was created. It was an incredibly wondrous day for all parties involved and there was much rejoicing. (yay)

Some time later, countless individuals (including myself) got their first introduction to this wonderful world thanks to a TV show called The Screensavers, hosted on what was then known as TechTV (now referred to as G4TV). During what was only a few brief moments, There was demonstrated to us in all its glory. Well, at least all the glory you could cram into those few brief moments, that is. There was still in public beta so registration was not the simple process it is today. I applied for an account to enter the public beta to begin exploring this awesome new world, and I waited. For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen. I waited. And waited. I then waited some more. When I could stand to wait no longer, I moved on to other things figuring There would surely e-mail me back in no time at all. Sadly, such is not the case. By the time my acceptance letter finally arrived in the mail, it was several months later and I had completely lost interest.

Significantly more time later, my interest in this online world was rekindled. I don't know how, I don't know why. It just happened. By this time There had emerged from public beta and was available for all to join! Wow! I hopped on the bandwagon, so to speak, and have been addicted ever since. Now by this time, if you don't already know what There is, you may be asking yourself "What on earth is There?!" To put it simply, There is an online virtual world. Some people categorize it as an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game). It's an incredible 3D world devoted to having a good time. Need more info?

This Blog is just a place I decided to create on a whim today in order to chronicle my avatar's life in There. I'll be posting all the trouble I get myself into, along with plenty of eye candy beginning with the screenshots I already have archived dating back to the day I joined There. Feel free to add comments as you see fit... Enjoy!
