Blinky Falls On Hard Times

A few days ago, I popped in to check on Mr. Blinky and saw he had migrated a short distance away from where he used to be on New Kansas. He was just over the nearby hilltop. Later that night, I checked back in and he was gone!! This evening I returned to New Kansas with Justin500 in search of ol' Blinky. We searched far and wide for him, but he was nowhere to be seen! Justin said the previous night Blinky was standing next to this couch in the middle of nowhere. We took a look at who the paz belonged to and it turns out it's owned by someone named 5impo. The paz is called "Lenwa's Ghost"!! Could it be that these people think they own Mr. Blinky? It would seem they have tried to claim poor Mr. Blinky as a possession!! Perhaps this drove Blinky into hiding? Maybe he ran away without telling anybody where he was going!

We extended our search and nearby we came across an abandoned hoverboat. What in the world is this doing here, we thought? When we clicked its about tab to see who it belonged to, we got this error (click to enlarge):What does it mean? We considered the possibility that the boat belonged to Mr. Blinky and he was planning on taking another trip or moving to another island again. We were left with even more questions than before. We decided to continue our search beginning again at Blinky's last known location. When we got there, to our surprise, there was Mr. Blinky standing next to that sofa blinking away!!He totally caught us by surprise. We ran up to him and asked him what was going on but, as usual, he kept quiet. It was then that Justin noticed I was blinking too and had disappeared from his list of nearby avies! But I didn't appear to blink from my perspective. What was going on here?! I stepped back and ceased to blink on Justin's screen, then Justin stepped towards Blinky and he began to blink on my screen!
We put it all together and were able to draw some conclusions that seem to explain all these strange things that have been going on. It would seem that Lenwa, who claimed Mr. Blinky as a possession, has angered Blinky. Mr. Blinky belongs to nobody! He has as much right to exist freely as you and I do! This Lenwa is still fairly new in There, just over a month old, so we can't expect him to know all these things. But he should tried talking to Mr. Blinky before making such wild assumptions! He could have looked in the forums and found a wealth of information about Mr. Blinky! Heck, he could have asked just about anybody else he found roaming around There and we could have told him everything he needed to know! But instead he goes and claims that he owns Mr. Blinky. Bad idea. It would seem that Blinky took great offense to this and has gone into hiding! That's why Justin and I couldn't find him initially. When he realized that it was just us looking for him, he showed himself. As far as the boat goes, I believe Blinky's reach extends beyond that of a normal avie. He is capable of reaching out into the servers and touching other objects in-world. That's how he is able to make anyone standing near him blink, and how he took control over the boat! Perhaps by making people near him blink, he is trying to give us a taste of what it must be like for him living such an existence. No doubt, while I type this Blinky is busy plotting his revenge on Lenwa! Good luck, Blinky. We'll back you anytime, anywhere. Just give the word.

Bob Says Hi!

I met a new friend today. His name is Bob. He's a very nice fellow, but he's a bit on the quiet side. I guess he's just shy but I can totally understand that. I mean, he's got a bad reputation for eating people and having really stinky breath and all. He always smells like fish too, for some odd reason. But once you get past those few minor shortcomings you'll find he's a fine ol' chap! He invited me over to see his igloo this evening! Our plans were foiled, however, when Francis_7 warned us that after the event the entire setup would be wiped clean for a new layout, and not set out again until the next There Games. Oh well :( It was nice meeting you Bob. I'll see you next year! On the plus side, I broke a personal record and got the fastest lap time yet on this track! This is me and Bob chillin' on the ice right after I won the hoverpack event. Say hi, Bob!

I attended my first buggy race in the There Games as well today. It was a fun track with a few of those blasted turns that can be so difficult, but I managed. I managed to get the fastest lap, that is :) It's all thanks to my new Freak Buggy I bought today. It has tires that stick like glue! It handled those corners like they weren't even there. Zoom Zoom!

Eanie Meanie Miny Moe... Decisions decisions. The last two events tonight were double booked! Should I do Elaur's hoverpack paintballing, or Rickpa's buggy bullies? I couldn't decide! They both sounded like so much fun! In the end, I decided to go to Elaur's event. It seemed buggy bashing involved more luck and random chance than actual skill. Rickpa had a slight delay in getting his event started, so other green team members left and joined me at Elaur's event. In all, we had five people at the event fighting for us! Myself, CapeCodBob, Squirrelett, Ubber_Geek, and Toblerone all paintballed as hard as we could. Elaur and BlueDaisySky had an arena set up similar to a funzone's border and the object was to get on a hoverpack and paintball everybody else out! It was loads of fun. Green team ended up with a grand total of forty five points!!! We won ten out of twelve rounds by my count and I was in the zone at the end of nine of those! We all did an awesome job and gained ourselves another three points in the games. Go green! It turns out that the olive, light blue, and red teams won in Rickpa's event.

Chicken Griefing

Jon Quixote was There.

Only Two Things are Infinite...

"...The Universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the former."
- Albert Einstein

stu·pid (stū'pĭd, styū'-)
adj., -er, -est.
    1. Slow to learn or understand; obtuse.
    2. Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes.
    3. Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless: a stupid mistake.
    4. Dazed, stunned, or stupefied.

You know, some people are rude, some are obnoxious, and some are total morons. NurseJay's There Games Freelium Escape had just ended and she was trying to find a fair way to award points since she ran out of time when a few people start entering the zone wondering where their event had gone to and why people were in the zone and what happened to their event and where did it go and why were we all standing there and why we weren't answering them...
Poor NurseJay was swamped with those losers asking questions and when they finally decided they had screamed enough into their microphones for one night they let us explain. And then they began asking questions like "There Games?! What is that I never heard of no games do we win something? What do the points count for? How long is this going to take? I want to do my event why are you here when it's time for my event!"

Some people, no matter how many times you explain something to them, they just don't get it. Yep. And that's all I have to say about that.

On a positive note, the Freelium Escape event was definitely fun, though a bit chaotic. One team got themselves inside a dog pen with a Feelium ball and tried to knock it out before the other teams completed one board lap. If somebody completes a lap before said team gets the ball out of the doggie pen, that boarder wins a point for his/her team. As I said, we ran out of time so it was difficult for NurseJay to decide on points, but she wound up awarding first place to Teal and Green team based on the fastest lap times. I thought Teal had accumulated more points, but NurseJay had done a couple practice rounds we weren't aware of and so I guess we were actually tied. Anyways, it was a unique event and unique events are always fun :)

Before the Freelium Escape, I tried another skydiving event hosted by Sammy1000. I did awful, scoring just five points each jump. I scooted off to NurseJay's event quickly so I have no idea which team ended up winning.

Preceding the skydiving, however, I attended three events hosted by Mackie. And when Mackie hosts an event you know it's going to be fun! The first was a boarding event. The layout of the course was exactly the kind I like. It was the kind of course Buff_God and I used to race each other on back in the day. In those days spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were real men, women were real women, and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were real small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri.RabidBeast and I were tied for a time and we both vowed to break the tie before the event was out, but Rabid gave up early. I knew I could do it given enough time, but time was rapidly running out and I had my doubts. I raced my hardest right up until the final moments of the event and took the lead with seconds to spare in the event! RabidBeast and I seem to be an almost equal match at most sporting events we compete in and it makes for some fun events.

After the boarding most of us followed Mackie to Lyric Trivia! Mackie wrote a line from the lyrics of a song and we had to guess the song title or the artist, depending on the mood Mackie was in at that moment. The trick here was to have google open to search for any songs you didn't know offhand. Being able to type quickly was a big help. I scored four or five points for our team during the '00-'05 era, but had to google almost every song when she switched over to the 80's. I did fairly well, though, winning seven points total for our team. We won first place!

After the Lyric Trivia was another event called Mssng Vwls. This was loads of fun! Mackie wrote a word with the vowels omitted and we had to guess the word. It wasn't an incredibly difficult event but you had to be fast on that buzzer!! I scored one point for our team and Squirrelett scored several more. At the end of the event there was a three-way tie for first among blue, light blue, and gray!! Woahs! Green got second place.
